ORMAN

Impulse statt Notation.

ORMAN : Impulse versus notation.

In recent years, the line between concert and musical theater in contemporary music has become more fluent. Burak & Musica Sequenza have put this development continuously in their attention. With their new concert program „ORMAN“ the Ensemble Soloists build a bridge between traditional and avant-garde culture of sound. In the „ORMAN“ concerts the historical instruments and rituals take on an experimental sound-research of the contemporary.

In addition to numerous electro-acoustic performances and recordings, the ensemble moved via „ORMAN“ from Berlin’s improvisation-scene on baroque instruments around the globe. Their virtuoso energy resounds through „ORMAN“, where no forms of notation follow, from where an indistinguishable starting point, structure and expression developed. „ORMAN is both complex and simple at the same time .. “ says Burak ; „At the sessions sometimes even our everyday routine is being illustrated, but a spontaneous electric-flow of sound can bring the audience to the deep of the Amazonas.“

The effective dramaturgical system in „ORMAN“ is an impressionist effect, where the intensity emphasizes the overall sound design of the performance. In the ensemble there are guitars, that turn into gigantic chord-instruments with diverse fanning sound-facets and then deployed a powerful voice of the Strings with wind-interjections and percussive accents appearing every single time in a brand new color. The music receives a visual level – here the ensemble Musica Sequenza with his musicians stops being an interpreter and becomes an artistic object.
