AMOUR FOU is a chamber opera with music of Georg Friedrich Händel, as well as French baroque operas. The pasticcio program is created by composer and bassoonist Burak Özdemir and his baroque ensemble Musica Sequenza. AMOUR FOU, casted with two soloists (couple), is based on highly dramatic love arias from various Händel operas, as well as French operas by Lully, Rameau and Gluck. The focus of the work is the French baroque style, where Händel’s music enters a dialogue with the French opera. The performance is planned as a semi-staged chamber opera with two vocal soloists, a baroque ensemble and minimalistic stage ideas.
