VOCAL LAB BERLIN

Vocal Lab Berlin is launched in 2012 as Berlin Baroque Ensemble Musica Sequenza’s platform for early music singers. Style, skills and experience in dealing with renaissance and baroque singing, Vocal Lab has come together to carry the historical performance information to Musica Sequenza’s diverse productions for vocal arts and collaborations. The collective created various programs with masterpieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, Claudio Monteverdi, George Frideric Handel, Henry Purcell, Giovanni Battista Pergolesi and Dietrich Buxtehude and more. VLB is also involved in innovative stage productions with contemporary composers‘ works, including the touring performance series „Opera del Futuro“,  „Sampling Baroque“ and „Opium“. The projects are commissioned by festivals and concert halls such as Berlin Early Music Biennale, Alice Tully Hall, Radial System V, Kitkat Club, Berghain and many others. In 2012 Musica Sequenza released its debut Album „The New Four Seasons“ with Antonio Vivaldi cantatas for solo alto and baroque ensemble, performed by American countertenor Daniel Bubeck (Deutsche Harmonia Mundi & Sony Music).
