Synopsis

The University of Düsseldorf makes international headlines: the celebrated professor Saraswati (Stephanie Eidt), who presents herself as a “person of color,” is in fact white! Student Nivedita (Amanda Babaei Vieira), also known as the podcaster “Identitti,” discovers an old photograph of Saraswati, thereby exposing her lifelong deception. The image spreads across social media, and the scandal surrounding Saraswati’s identity fraud unfolds. While the press and online communities engage in a wave of outrage and calls for her dismissal, Nivedita begins to investigate the motives behind Saraswati’s years-long deception. In the process, she encounters Kaali (Sabrina Setlur), her own alter ego, and becomes entangled in a political as well as personal conflict that forces her to question not only Saraswati’s identity, but her own as well.
